11+ Spelling and Vocabulary is written for children who are sitting 11+, Common Entrance and scholarship examinations.

This set of twelve workbooks written by Stephen Curran follows the teaching methods used by AE Tuition in its very successful classes for over 15 years. Every year over 85% of children in the AE Tuition learning programme achieve success in the state grammar school 11+ examinations and independent school selection tests.

This innovative series of books provides a complete and comprehensive course building a child's spelling and vocabulary technique. The course boosts 11+ verbal reasoning, comprehension and word power skills. It also provides a wider vocabulary for use in creative writing. The whole series is designed to be completed over one school year, or more for younger children, with the child learning 20 new words every day.

The books progress from foundation (Books 1-3) and intermediate (Books 4-7) to advanced level (Books 8-12) material. Working through the series will give a child a working vocabulary of more than 5,400 words. A running total of the words covered is contained in the Word Bank at the top of each page. The child is encouraged to recognize, spell, know the definition and use of each word.

At the back of each book all the words used are listed alphabetically for easy reference so you can test your child. Answers to each exercise are provided together with a progress chart and a Certificate of Achievement.
